Don't stop till you get enough.

I am an addict.

I sit in class and wait for my next fix, my body constantly is craving, and in periods lacking indulgence I am irritable, edgy, and in need of more. For me, there's no greater high than what I reap from raw cardiovascular exercise. My brain trembles with euphoria as endorphins get pumped into it's tissue, my mood soaring from the happy chemicals like serotonin. I get off my bike or climb out of the pool with an exhausted satisfaction; my brain and body shaking hands, thanking each other for the shared respect.

I want to pose the argument that physical exertion is the key to the future. In addition to obvious resource conservation by walking or riding a bike for transportation, even a brief revving of your heart before a session of cognitive taxing oils the gears in your body and brain. As the planet's most violent country, I wonder what would happen if America could settle down a little bit, and maybe talk out our differences more; if we were in the relaxed mindset that exercise brings more often.

I remember thinking in the past few days, how much of a rip off it is when car commercials try and sell the "Freedom" or "Exhilaration" that comes from driving. Just roll down your windows in afternoon rush hour and see how the drivers in a car commercial measure up to the
drivers who've been sitting it traffic for 2 hours. Just like at a zoo and being trapped in a small metal cage, drivers lash out when provoked and ordinarily pleasant people become complete monsters. It's incredible. I find it hard to get mad at anyone as I climb off my bike with jelly-like legs and stumble through my day with a relaxed smile.

Also, as the population continues to explode, we're going to have to start dreaming some creative solutions fast. In a way, society will soon be subjected to a similar kind of pressure like that of an Ad Agency (and also the Ad program I'm in now). In the business of selling ideas that sell products, it seems that everyone wants hear everything that you can think of, and they wanted to hear it yesterday. As the Polar Ice Caps continue to thaw out, and Earth's biological diversity starts to slowly homogenize, humans are going to be quickly confronted with dreaming up new, realistic, and executable ideas as quickly as they can so that we can start testing out different solutions, seeing what works and what doesn't.

My best ideas and some of my deepest thoughts come to me when I'm climbing the hills north of San Francisco on my bike. I bet we could come up with some fascinating new mindsets if we experimented with a bunch of different brains: strap a helmet on them, and tell them to go
ride through Marin county. For the mean time, try doing some jumping jacks or run up a nearby hill a few times before sitting down to get you work done and see how inspiration seems to walk into your thinking with greater ease.

How's that sound?

That is one of the most intelligent blogs I've ever read. Now it's up to you to put your ideas into practice. Go for it!

What if your form of physical exertion is from Mixed Martial Arts or Ultimate Fighting. Will that still be condusive to "talking out our differences?" However, I strongly agree that the solutions to today's problems involve a shift in behavior and not necessarily another technological leap.
